We at Larta Institute constantly have an eye on the horizon, that is, our efforts in commercializing innovative technologies are aimed to impact the future for the better. Our hard work has recently been recognized, and we are happy to announce that we have received the “Creating a Better Future Through Entrepreneurship and Capital” award, courtesy of the SSTI. This September, the State Science and Technology Institute (SSTI) recognized Larta’s outstanding impact in the sector of socially-beneficial entrepreneurship at their annual “Creating a Better Future” award ceremony in Washington, DC.
The “Creating a Better Future Through Entrepreneurship and Capital” award was one of only four such awards given. The rarity of the award is not lost on us at Larta Institute, and we count ourselves privileged to be recognized alongside other organizations dedicated to economic development initiatives through innovation and entrepreneurship.
“A Good Model for the Future”
Larta Institute was recognized for our Commercialization Acceleration Programs (CAPs) initiative and network-centric model, both of which are hallmarks of our organization. CAPs outfit early-stage companies with a customized acceleration model, including one-on-one mentorship with a vast network of industry experts and strategic introductions to potential investors, buyers, and partners, effectively advancing the path to market. Larta’s strength in our remote network was cited by one SSTI judge as a “good model for the future.”
“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by SSTI,” said Rohit Shukla, Founder and CEO of Larta Institute. “SSTI is a mission-driven organization committed to economic development to make lives better for people through economic opportunity, which closely aligns with Larta’s mission to provide a runway of success for world-changing ideas in science and technology that will feed, fuel, and heal the world in the future.”
The “Creating a Better Future Through Entrepreneurship and Capital” award highlights Larta’s proven track record of success in commercializing early-stage companies and crafting entrepreneurs out of innovators. In 2016, Larta Institute nurtured and energized over 300 innovative technology solutions into viable commercial enterprises that better lives around the world. To date, since our company’s foundation in 1993, we have mentored over 10,000 early-stage companies through one or more of our CAPs.
Since 1993, more than $2.7B has been raised by Larta CAP companies in non-dilutive funding and more than $4B in private investment.
SSTI is an invaluable resource for companies involved in technology-based economic development, with a nationwide network of practitioners and policymakers dedicated to improving the economy through science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We are ecstatic and honored at the distinction and partnership with SSTI in creating a better future through entrepreneurship.
