Food is an essential and a constant in our lives. Every day. Three squares a day. The ways in which we produce, process, and engage with food has notably changed in the last decade.

“Food for Thought: New Sources, New Systems” is the subject of Larta’s Global Ag Innovation Network (GAIN) next forum, which will dig into consumer trends in food and nutrition and the implications for the production of food itself on October 20th in downtown Los Angeles.

The line-up of food industry experts will showcase specific instances and innovative business models in the food value chain in Southern California.

Three Southern California entrepreneurs and an investor, representing diverse interests pertinent to the production and consumption of food will come together to discuss the region as ground zero in the revolution in food, the changing habits of consumers and their journeys toward building enterprises in the sector. The discussion will also include an investor’s perspective, specifically, what type of food startups are attracting investment across geographies.

The event is a spotlight event with LAEDC’s LA Innovation Week, and is organized in partnership with Sidley Austin LLP, DuPont Pioneer, and the Haworth Studio. Join us for the lively discussion and, appropriately, lunch.

About GAIN
Larta Institute’s Global Ag Innovation Network (GAIN) is a national leadership forum series bringing together agriculture industry influencers to share insights on trends and models, and spur investment in cutting-edge agricultural technology. Quarterly GAIN forums draw a diverse cross-section of the ag industry, including entrepreneurs, corporations, investment firms, academia, research organizations, government agencies, foundations, professional services providers, professionals at the C-suite and senior management levels and other stakeholders.

The Global Ag Innovators Network, GAIN’s predecessor, was formed in 2009 by a mid-West agribusiness investor as a regional members-only ag association. In 2013, Larta assumed ownership of GAIN, rebranded it, and expanded its geographical and sector focus. Past GAIN events have showcased current trends in ag research, ag tech innovation and investments, biologicals, climate change, closed loop (indoor) agriculture, and soil stimulants.
